It's awesome to watch the sea monkeys grow and mature. I didn't use this for it's educational value, I am just a big kid and it's brought me a lot of entertainment. You may need to get the other food and supplies from the official sea monkey company to ensure they live long lives.

We love our sea monkeys! I think that I enjoy them more than the kids do! They are amazing to watch. To think that they came from a package and a week later are swimming around. Be patient though. If you think they didn't work give it some more time. I almost dumped ours out when I noticed a faint movement in the water. It actually took 2 weeks for ours to hatch. The water may not have been warm enough, who knows but they were there. Once we fed them, a few days later they were all swimming around. Very cool!

Ordered this kit twice and it never worked. The animals never hatched which was very disappointing to our kids. The retailer was cooperative when the first package didn't work and sent out a new package of sea monkey eggs. That one didn't hatch either. We followed the instructions to the letter both times. Packages might be old or just bad batches but we didn't have any luck with these. Both my husband and I had sea monkeys several times throughout our childhood and were really looking forward to our children having the same kitschy fun.
