This thing is awesome. Green laser light scattered all over the ceiling (or where ever you shine it.) The projector also puts an eerie blue cloud on the surface as well. There are no 'real' star constellations in this product but the simulation of stars and clouds is unreal. This isn't an educational tool at all - just a fun light show.

If it is an educational star projector you want, this one is not for you. There are no real constellations or stars. However, if you are looking for something to make it seem like you are under a sky with thousands of stars moving around in random but smooth motions and with a great ambient blue 'cloud cover' light (that can be turned up, down or off) this is just what you are looking for. The stars move at different speeds in relatively random patterns, they are very clear and of several different sizes and it can fill the whole ceiling of almost any room. Exactly what I was looking for!

This thing is great. I used it the first time in a pitch black room and immediately said, "Wow." Even with medium light in a room it looks great, though it's best in total darkness of course. It's relaxing, a little hynotic, and well worth the price for anybody who is freaky-for-stars. Don't expect the real night sky, however -- as in "Orion's over there, and there's Sirius" -- as these generic "stars" are generated by laser in random, shifting patterns. It's more of a mood thing. The stars are green and the adjustable nebula cloud is bright blue, and the cloud is helpful as it disguises the laser patterns. I barely hear the fan, AND it's been running for over three hours and there is absolutely no heat around the thing. Amazing! It has a nice, small footprint, and you can even attach it to a wall so it stays out of the way (the projector is adjustable and can be pointed anywhere -- it even looks cool pointed in a corner). The only thing that seems a little silly is the fact that the projector is shaped like a star; as a grown-up "kid" I'd have been fine with a less conspicuous design. But that's not worth the loss of even half a star when it comes to the rating, it's great fun!

Green specks floating around are tranquil and pleasant. No galaxies, no educational value, just for fun. Simple to use, no other parts to keep up with. No sleep timer.

WOW! What an awesome product! It is certainly more than a TOY! We have it on in our living room on our vaulted ceiling every night, or sometimes we move it to the bedroom for the vaulted ceiling there. It gives a wonderful, peaceful ambiance! Only adults use it in our household. There are no children. I am sure, however, that my grandchildren and great grandchildren will love it when they come to visit! It was an excellent price for the product: the lowest price we could find anywhere! It arrived quickly and we are extremely satisfied!
